Painting shows a child's view of a drinking daddy. The art is from IT STOPS WITH ME: MEMOIR OF A CANUCK GIRL, and award-winning, critically acclaimed memoir by American Artist Charleen Touchette.
Touchette writes, "The damage child abuse and domestic violence cause is incalculable. But it is still a dirty secret worldwide. People often blame and punnish the abused child if they dare speak out. When I wrote my memoir, IT STOPS WITH ME, it was banned at my hometown library for 3 months and Bard College President Leon Botstein wrote my book "does not deserve First Ammendment Protection." Stand up against child abuse and protect children."

We Are the Same, but Different by Charleen Touchette 1988
Inspired by a dream in 1983 and the Masai woman's prayer, "God, O Nursing Mother, it suits us to sit in the shade while we nurse our babes, and the satellite meeting between American and Russian women who said they wanted the nuclear arms race to stop.

Patriotic Woman Banned from Photobucket
Was feeling very patriotic when painting this thinking about how strong sexism is in America.
Painted the illuminated woman in red, white and blue, feeling patriotic, thus the title Patriotic Woman.
Posted it to Photobucket and Flickr.
Surprised that within 24 hours Photobucket had a big red slash where Patriotic Woman should have been with bold letters, "This image or video violates our terms of service."
Had to blow up the pic to see what could have offended them.
Do you think they have people screening to find pictures of vaginas?
Wow. how frightening for people to see the portal through which they were born painted with respect.
